High School Student Volunteers

The Teen Volunteer Program offers 2 sessions per year.

This format gives you the opportunity to choose what session fits your schedule best and allows us the ability to process your application more efficiently.

Summer/Fall Session:

June – Saturday, October 31 

One 2-hour shift for 5 months equals 40 service hours

Application Accepted: Friday, May 1 through Friday, May 15

Orientation: June

Winter/Spring Session:

December – Thursday, April 30

One 2‑hour shift for 5 months equals 40 service hours

Applications Accepted: Sunday, November 1 through Sunday, November 15

Orientation: December

• Patient Unit Support
• Art for Healing
• Music for Healing

General Program Criteria and Requirements

Thank you for your interest in our program. As there is a large demand among Santa Clarita Valley residents wanting to enter our program, we are currently unable to accept applications from outside of our local area.

In order to maintain the quality of our volunteer program, volunteers must agree to the listed requirements:

• Sit through a 1 on 1 interview
• Attend a three-hour New Volunteer Orientation
• Purchase a Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital uniform
• Comply with Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital Health Screening Policies and Procedures including all mandated annual testing and vaccinations
• Participate in ongoing training  

After submitting your application in May or November, you will be emailed by the Volunteer Services Department with a scheduled interview date.
