May Foundation Presidents Message

May is a month of celebration at Henry Mayo. We began the month by honoring our dedicated Nursing team during the nationally recognized Nurse’s Week. Our nurses support every clinical department and play a vital role in the entire patient experience. We are deeply grateful for all they do.

Following Nurse’s Week, we will celebrate Hospital Week. In addition to Nursing, there are countless professionals needed to operate various hospital departments, its facilities, and its campus. Hospital Week recognizes the entire Henry Mayo team, including our truly outstanding medical staff.

May is also Mental Health Awareness Month, and mental health continues to be an important area of focus both in our community and at Henry Mayo and we are proud to introduce a new Empath unit this summer. We also recognize our critical Emergency and Trauma Services this month. Our recently concluded Frontier Toyota Henry Mayo Golf Classic raised significant funds that will help us continue providing state-of-the-art equipment for our Emergency Department. Many efficiencies have also been implemented in our Emergency Department to best serve our growing community and ensure the timely delivery of care for patients, most of whom are able to return home on the same day.

As we reflect on celebrating our nurses and hospital staff this month, we are reminded how valuable every person associated with our hospital truly is. We also must recognize the generous support of our community. Everyone involved at Henry Mayo is deserving of credit, gratitude, and appreciation every day — not just during the month of May!
