February Foundation Presidents Message

Earlier this month Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow, signifying winter will continue a little longer. And obviously the wet season continues as well!

Throughout February, we are reminded to focus on the hearts of the people we love. At Henry Mayo, we care deeply about the hearts of our entire community, and we demonstrate that commitment every day through the excellence of our remarkable team at the Roberta G. Veloz Cardiovascular Services. Throughout this month, there are many activities planned to educate our community about heart health, raise funds for a second Cardiac Cath Lab and celebrate our many clinical successes.

Our Heart Program reflects how generous philanthropy from our community supports our hospital and each other. Seeded by a significant gift by a local community businesswoman, the Roberta G. Veloz Cardiovascular Services continues to add state-of-the- art, life-saving technology and procedures and attracts many other thoughtful gifts to grow its impact. Its list of accomplishments is inspiring and cutting edge. Indeed, we recently became the only hospital in Los Angeles County with a heart program accredited through the American College of Cardiology. We are grateful to our donors, and of course to the excellent work of our medical director, Dr. James Lee, and the dedicated team he works with.

As you celebrate those you love in this month of hearts, please know that Henry Mayo is here to take care of everyone's heart and so many other needs you may have in your health and wellness journey.
