  • About Laura

Dr. Laura Valentine has joined the Henry Mayo Rehab team in 2019 to aid Elizabeth Makous continue growing the pelvic floor program to help meet the expanding demand of pelvic floor dysfunction. Laura received her doctoral degree at Azusa Pacific University in Los Angeles which focused on a holistic approach due to being a private Christian university. Laura was trained during a student clinical affiliation by Brandi Kirk, a Chicago-land leading pelvic expert, and started treating independently with complex patient cases at Loyola University Medical Center in 2013. There she completed the year-long intensive orthopedic residency which has been APTA accredited and included researching pelvic pain during third trimester pregnancy which has continued to remain her passion. Laura feels her specialization in Orthopedics attributes to the best overall care for all patient populations including pelvic floor, spine, TMJ, and extremity dysfunctions. Laura’s treatment approach is heavily manual treatment techniques along with progression of independent home exercise programs to adjunct treatment approaches for best outcomes and most current research approaches. Laura and her growing family moved back to the Los Angeles area in 2018 and are excited to have put down roots in Santa Clarita, California permanently. Laura enjoys spending time with her husband, son and dog on the weekends and attempts to get outside and enjoy the California weather and scenery as much as possible.
