Colleen Adam is a licensed Physical Therapist at Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital’s Outpatient Therapy and Sports Center. Colleen received both her Bachelors of Science in Health Science and Masters of Physical Therapy degrees from Boston University.
Colleen has received advanced training in functional movement analysis, therapeutic Pilates, Post Concussion Syndrome and Vestibular Rehabilitation. She is certified in Applied Functional Science (CAFS) through the Gray Institute and is a Functional Range Conditioning Mobility Specialist (FRCms). She also holds certifications in Functional Movement Screening (FMSC) and Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM). Colleen is a Credentialed Clinical Instructor through the APTA and serves as the Center Coordinator of Clinical Education (CCCE) for the Physical Therapy departments. Colleen is a former competitive soccer, volleyball and softball player. Her love of athletics and injury prevention led her to the field of Physical Therapy. Her primary clinical focus is on the correction of dysfunctional movement patterns, the restoration of athletic performance and injury prevention. Colleen provides community outreach to two of the SCV’s local high schools by performing injury assessments of athletes. She collaborates with the school’s Athletic Trainer to develop appropriate plans of care for injured athletes and return them to sport safely. She has also been a member on the panel of experts for Henry Mayo Newhall Hospitals Concussion Conference, discussing the role of the Physical Therapist in the care of persons with Post Concussion Syndrome.English
