Our team of specialists is dedicated to achieving the best possible outcome for our patients, particularly those with complex and challenging problems such as neurological injuries. The Rehabilitation Services Department includes physical, occupational and speech-language therapists who combine their experience and skill with the latest technology to help our clients achieve their goals and regain function. Together, these professionals work closely with you and your physicians to develop a comprehensive treatment plan that begins during your hospitalization and extends into care provided at our convenient outpatient therapy clinics. Our unique program allows for a comfortable transition from injury and disease to promoting independence and long-term wellness.
Acute Hospital Therapy
Acute hospital therapy begins with your physician ordering appropriate therapy evaluations depending on the nature and extent of your deficits. For example, a physical therapist may work on mobility, strength and balance challenges, while an occupational therapist may focus on the patient’s capabilities in self-care, meal preparation, and community re-entry. Speech-language pathologists will simultaneously address issues of cognition, communication and swallowing. Our expert therapists develop individualized treatment plans that address the patient’s goals and deliver focused, compassionate care at the bedside in all areas of the hospital. The benefits of therapy do not stop after a patient is medically stable enough the leave the acute hospital setting.
