Selina’s Story: Swift Action and Coordinated Care Bring Fast Healing

Santa Clarita resident of 15 years, devoted mother of three daughters and CEO, Selina Thomas is known for being a leader in the field of Human Resources. But one Wednesday night, she found herself needing experts of a different kind, the healthcare professionals right here in her own community.

Selina wasn’t feeling well that evening, and although her daughter encouraged her to visit an urgent care clinic, she decided to wait until morning. By the early hours of the next day, Selina knew something was seriously wrong. She was in excruciating pain, had vomited several times, and was unable to find relief. Recognizing the urgency, her daughter called 911 for help.

Selina was quickly transported to the Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital Emergency Department. There, our dedicated medical team determined that Selina’s gallbladder needed to be removed. Thanks to the swift actions of the paramedics and the skilled care provided by Henry Mayo’s physicians, nurses, and staff, her surgery went smoothly, and her recovery was rapid.

Just four days later, Selina was back home with her family, healthy, grateful, and ready to continue being the mother, CEO, and community leader that Santa Clarita knows so well.
