Denise Redmond Shares Her Heartfelt Journey Through Cardiac Rehab: Strength, Support, and New Friendships

Denise Redmond Shares Her Heartfelt Journey Through Cardiac Rehab: Strength, Support, and New FriendshipsFrom the beginning, I could tell it was a great program.  The staff makes sure to personalize the program to each individual, meeting you where you are and then they slowly and carefully get you to a better place.

I instantly felt safe and understood, as the team is meticulous about starting at the beginning, working your way up to doing more, always monitoring your heart rate and blood pressure – all of which ensures that we work within our limits and build tolerance over time.

Of course, starting a Cardiac Rehab program is a little daunting, but it was comforting to see that there is no stereotypical “type” of people that have cardiac issues…it can be anyone of any age, all sharing in need for this type of program. Everyone is there for the same reason – working to be healthier and stronger.  A side benefit that I was not expecting is the bond that we all made with classmates and the staff.  Spending three months together in this unique setting created an unexpected sense of camaraderie and even created lasting friendships.  It was a very good experience.
