Meet Monica El-Masry, MD

Monica El-Masry, MD, is a general hematologist and oncologist and treats patients with all cancer types and hematologic conditions at USC Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center, part of Keck Medicine of USC. She is triple board certified in internal medicine, medical oncology and hematology. Dr. El-Masry has a particular interest in benign and malignant hematology, breast cancer, head and neck cancer, and cancer prevention.
Dr. El-Masry is an avid proponent of integrative oncology. She incorporates psychosocial support, nutrition counseling and lifestyle modifications, such as exercise and healthy eating habits, into her patient’s treatment plans. She regularly combines these therapies with conventional treatments to provide a personalized and holistic approach to cancer care.
Her research interests include cancer prevention and clinical trials assessing potential new treatments. A passionate educator, Dr. El-Masry has been recognized for her teaching excellence, and she routinely volunteers in the community as a physician mentor.
Dr. El-Masry grew up in California’s San Fernando Valley. She attended medical school at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. She completed post-graduate medical training at UCLA- Olive View and fellowship training in medical oncology and hematology at the Chao Comprehensive Cancer center at UC Irvine and the Long Beach Veteran’s Affairs Medical center. In her free time, she enjoys going to the beach, hiking, and spending time with family and friends.
