Diabetes Management Program
The Diabetes Management Program at Henry Mayo offers self-care management education to inpatients, outpatients and their families, hospital staff, and community members.
The curriculum focuses on three key areas: basic diabetes education; nutrition; and medications. Instruction from dedicated diabetes educators is provided bedside for inpatients, and to members of the community multiple times a month, with morning and evening sessions offered at no charge.
Inpatient Diabetes Program
The inpatient program provides comprehensive diabetes self-management education to our patients and their caregivers. 2 Certified Diabetes Care Education Specialists are available to assist in education of new medications, nutrition, and follow up care regarding their diabetes disease process. Outpatient Diabetes Program
Our outpatient program provides comprehensive diabetes self-management education to our community at no cost. Our outpatient diabetes program is located at the Community Education Center within the Henry Mayo Fitness and Health building and offer many classes on nutrition, well-being, and disease specific education. Diabetes Prevention Program
Are you worried about getting Diabetes? Have you been told that you have pre-diabetes? You can make changes now to improve your health and prevent Type 2 Diabetes.
The 'Prevent T2 Lifestyle Change Program' can help you lose weight, become more physically active and reduce stress. This is a proven program with a CDC-approved curriculum and trained lifestyle coaches.
