About Sarah Blumenthal, MD

Sarah Blumenthal, MD, is fellowship trained in orthopedic trauma surgery and specializes in the treatment of fractures throughout the body, including the pelvis, upper extremities and lower extremities. She also provides care for traumatic tendon and ligament injuries that typically occur from falls, sports or vehicular accidents. In addition, she has experience treating fractures that have not healed properly (non-unions or malunions), along with infections involving muscle and bone.

Dr. Blumenthal is actively involved in scientific research and has published most recently in peer-reviewed journals on topics such as geriatric hip fractures, femoral non-unions, deep-space infections and disparities in trauma care.

She received her undergraduate degree in neurobiology from Harvard University and her medical degree from the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. She completed her residency at the University of Pennsylvania and her fellowship in orthopedic trauma at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York.

Dr. Blumenthal grew up in Northern California and has lived on both West and East coasts. In each city she called home, she served different patient populations, which has honed her ability to target treatments based on patients’ specific needs.
