Paul La Porte, MD

Paul La Porte, MD is a compassionate and highly trained hematologist and medical oncologist who provides expert care to patients at Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital. He is dedicated to delivering personalized, evidence-based treatment while supporting patients and their families through every stage of care.

Dr. La Porte earned his BA in Biology, PhD in Cancer Biology, and MD from the University of Chicago. He completed his internal medicine residency at Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta and his fellowship in hematology/oncology at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). He further advanced his research training with a post-doctoral fellowship in chemical engineering at the California Institute of Technology (Caltech).

Throughout his career, Dr. La Porte has received numerous academic honors, including the Dean’s Merit Scholarship from the Pritzker School of Medicine and recognition as a semifinalist in both the Intel Science Talent Search and Siemens–Westinghouse Science Competition. He has authored several peer-reviewed publications, contributed to cancer research projects, and served as a teaching assistant at the University of Chicago.
