Community, DiabetesThis class will explore the effect food has on blood glucose levels, how feelings about food may influence your behavior and how the timing of meals has an impact on blood glucose levels. There will be discussions about how family, cultural, and religious practices can affect food choices and eating habits.
Continuing your Journey with Diabetes
This class focuses on preventing, detecting and treating acute and chronic complications. The natural course of type 2 diabetes is discussed as well as the relationship of blood glucose levels on the long-term complications of diabetes. Long term complications are defined and discussed. Risk factors other than blood glucose levels for each long-term complication are identified.
