SCV Healthy Baby Expo 2008
Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital hosted the SCV Healthy Baby Expo 2008 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Sunday, May 4, in the Pavilion parking lot, on the hospital campus at 23845 McBean Parkway, Valencia.
The expo provided pregnant parents and young families with information about improvements on our maternity unit, our new Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and the hospital’s Master Plan, which includes a new hospital wing with private maternity rooms and added operating rooms.
In addition to learning about their community hospital, Santa Clarita Valley families had the opportunity to learn about resources in the community and about how to have a healthier pregnancy and a healthier baby.
As the hospital’s third annual event, Baby Expo 2008 attracted more than 600 families, who indulged in a variety of samples and entered into drawings taking place throughout the day.
The theme for this year’s event was “A Tribute to Moms” and all moms had a chance to take advantage of complimentary massages courtesy of Golden Hands Therapeutic Massage and mini makeovers from Mary Kay representatives. Each mom was slo treated to a flower courtesy of Steve’s Valencia Florist.
Babies “R” Us sponsored a community baby shower. Other stage events included a maternity fashion show and biggest belly contest.
Kids had the opportunity to make Mother’s Day cards and were entertained by clowns, costumed characters, train, bouncer, giant slide, and games.
