Two Units celebrate large leaps in Patient Satisfaction Scores

The Emergency Department and the Intensive Care Unit celebrated large leaps in their Patient Satisfaction scores over in the second quarter of the fiscal year.

Increasing six points in Jan/Feb/March quarter to 85.1 was the ICU team.  Their focus on sensitivity to the inconvenience that hospitalization causes along with their response to concerns and complaints, and their efforts to include patients in decisions about treatment has all paid off.

During the same time period, the Emergency Department score rose two points and up to the top 10 percent in our custom peer group, which includes 13 hospitals in Southern California that are similar to our hospital.

The ER Team’s focus on informing the patient about delays, caring about the patient as a person, and controlling their pain has made the noticeable difference.

As a thank you, President/CEO Roger Seaver visited the Emergency Department and congratulated staff members on their results and efforts. Both teams were also treated to pizza and received thank you notes signed by the executive management team.

Let’s congratulate our fellow co-workers and all strive to increase our patient satisfaction scores.
