Labor of Love
Santa Clarita residents expecting a child can now take advantage of local childbirth education classes offered by a Henry Mayo Labor and Delivery nurse.
Megan Bosworth, RN,CBE a nurse at Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital is presenting a seven-week class offered Tuesday nights from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. in the Greeley Education Center, located on the second floor of the main hospital building.
During the seven-week course, expectant parents will learn relaxation techniques, massage, the stages of labor as well as the benefits and controversies of medication administration, and breast feeding.
The program works on the philosophy that a woman should feel confident in her body's ability to give birth.
After attending our program you'll be able to make better and more informed choices as you plan your approach to childbirth. With all the childbirth tools, you'll know what to expect when you're ready to deliver.
While, a first-time mother may wish to complete the entire seven-week program, a woman who has already undergone a childbirth experience may only wish to refresh herself on a portion of the program. For a copy of the class schedule, please click here.
