Nurse Education

ICU nurses are critical care nurses with advanced clinical competencies that go beyond the training nurses receive in other units. ICU nurses take in-depth classes in hemodynamics, cardiac, renal, other body systems. In addition, they have advanced assessment skills that enable them to take into consideration the impact that body systems have upon one another.

Like our DOU and telemetry nurses, they are certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). This education enables them to respond swiftly and professionally to a patient's urgent medical needs, and, if necessary, administer life-saving treatments.
