"Drive Safe" Program
Since 1998 the Foundation and a host of corporate sponsors have provided a unique educational experience for teenagers. The Drive Safe program sends Henry Mayo trauma nurses into high school driver's education classes to show young people the risks of driving while tired or under the influence, and provide safety precautions. Local sheriff deputies add a unique dimension to the program by distributing white ribbons to high school seniors during graduation week. Teens wear the ribbons in memory of classmates who lost their lives on the highway.
