The Education Department is committed to providing educational opportunities to improve skill and knowledge for healthcare professionals in our community.

We welcome all participants to our educational classes.

Vision
The Department of Education will provide an environment where Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital team members, including staff and physicians, can develop the competencies required to become expert practitioners. This will be accomplished through the delivery of high quality education activities incorporating current technology and presented in a variety of learning formats.

Mission
The overall objective of the Department of Education is to facilitate the delivery of high-quality patient care and improved patient outcomes through ongoing educational activities designed to move practitioner competencies from novice to expert. Educational services are based on identified needs of the hospital staff, physicians and volunteers and are congruent with the mission, philosophy and goals of HMNMH as well as individual scopes of practice.

		Glenda Leyton, RN, BSN, MSN Director of Education Clinical experience in Medical/Surgical and Oncology Nursing, clinical Education, and Management experience. Current responsibilities include oversight and coordination of planning and implementation of: Continuing Medical Education, Community Education, and Professional Education.

		Ginny Chaffee, RN, BSN, MA Education Specialist Seven years experience as nurse educator. Extensive management experience in critical care, emergency medical services, and trauma.

		Teri Sullivan, RN, MICN, MSc Education Specialist Educator for 20 years specializing in Prehospital Care, Emergency Medicine, and coordinator for hospital clinical education. Also an Educator for UCLA Center Prehospital Care.

		Colleen Krieger, RN, BS, MBA, DSD Education Specialist Accomplished ICU Nurse Educator and Patient Care Coordinator with extensive experience in the care of trauma, cardiac, and hemodynamically unstable patients.
