Nurses in our DOU have advanced clinical competencies. Like the nurses in ICU, they are considered critical care nurses who receive special education in performing particular critical care duties. In addition, they are also certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). This education enables them to respond swiftly and professionally to a patient's urgent medical needs, and, if necessary, administer life-saving treatments.
