Community Outreach
Throughout the year, Henry Mayo attends various health fairs and community events and hosts complimentary cancer screenings with a goal of educating the community about the dangers of cancer and other health related issues.
For the past several years, the hospital has hosted complimentary colorectal cancer screenings during the month of March recognized as Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month and provided fecal occult blood tests to more than 900 people.
In 2004, we invited top specialists from the Santa Clarita Valley who are on the front line of breast cancer treatment presented a comprehensive all-day educational program for health care professionals. We partnered with local physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners and midwives to create this unique continuing education program which was attended by more than 150 participants.
