Cancer Care at Henry Mayo
Cancer care at Henry Mayo has traditionally been considered by its community as one of the facility's best services. This has been due to many factors, which include having an American College of Surgeons accredited program since 1988, a well-trained and academically oriented and affiliated group of specialists associated with USC, UCLA, City of Hope, Western Tumor Medical Group, Vantage Oncology and newly emerging technologies that Henry Mayo has on its campus.
In addition to highly qualified and recognized oncologists, Henry Mayo has a superior group of ancillary physicians including pathologists and radiologists all who work side by side to provide the most accurate diagnostics available and provide the latest in interventional treatment.
The Cancer Program at Henry Mayo consists of eight major components: Cancer Registry, Cancer Committee, Cancer Conferences, Cancer Treatment - Henry Mayo's Nursing Unit with an Oncology focus and Outpatient Infusion Center, Social Services, the Sheila R. Veloz Breast Imaging Center, our Smoking Cessation Program and with Vantage Oncology to provide radiation therapy on our campus.
Other aspects of the program include our strong community partnership with the American Cancer Society, cancer support groups and community outreach, including our work with the Santa Clarita Valley Coalition for Compassionate Care.
