No medical emergency is more time sensitive than a heart attack. That's why Henry Mayo's upcoming addition of a cardiac cath lab equipped to perform emergency angioplasty, today's gold-standard therapy for heart attack, is good news for Santa Clarita Valley residents. Two labs are in the works - one coming next spring for cardiac and peripheral vascular care, and another lab in 2009 that is totally dedicated to cardiac care. Included in Henry Mayo's plans is the addition of a state-of-the-art 64-slice CT scanner, technology that gives doctors a view of coronary arteries not previously possible. |
